My fitness pursuit began when I joined the track team in high school. I moved on to running cross country in college where I rolled my ankle multiple times and had pain on my hip flexors.

*I didn’t have a clue as to what was happening since I thought I had been ticking all the boxes in my training regimen. I had sought help from other “holistic practitioners” but only gave me temporary relief.

It wasn’t until 2014 when I reached out for a job shadowing opportunity to Functional Patterns in San Diego. Since then, my life has not been the same. I had a session with a practitioner and right away the aches on my back and tension on my hip flexors were less and I felt my body connect in ways it hadn’t before. Through what I learned from Naudi on the weekly visits to the facility, I had realized academia was mainly showing its students how to take a reductionist approach to viewing the human body rather than addressing it as a system. They were teaching students to view the human body as individual parts rather than as an integrated system. FP taught me how to actually address problems on peoples structures and help them move better; something that the university was trying to teach, but not successful in doing.

Since then I have not looked back and have been with FP from Seattle to Hawaii until the present day. Over the years it has helped me move better than what I did in my early 20’s. I no longer feel the aches on my lower back, strain on my hip flexors, discomfort on my knees or have rolled my ankles since I began employing Functional Patterns principles. I have been able to work with people with different backgrounds and levels of dysfunctions and help them address their pain and move better using the Functional Patterns training methodology. I am looking forward to being able to do the same with you!
